Travel support for a limited number of GRSS members and student members may be available from the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society. The GRSS travel support application must be submitted online by 1 March 2024 through the link below:
What the IGARSS travel grant will cover:
- Conference registration fee at your membership grade
- Flight cost to/from nearest airport1
- Accommodation (Hotel/University residence) cost for 5 days up to a maximum of 500$ US2
1Reasonable estimate based on current pricing using tools such as Travelocity, Expedia, Flight Hub, etc. Only economy fare will be accepted.
2A maximum of 100$ per day can be claimed.
When and how the IGARSS travel grant will be paid to you:
- Reimbursement will be made AFTER the conference, once all receipts have been submitted. Detailed instructions will be provided to recipients. Payment will be through direct deposit to bank account
- Claim must be submitted within 30 days after the conference
- Receipts are required for each claim. Amounts claimed without a receipt will not be reimbursed
- The final payment will be made within 14 days of a properly submitted claim
To apply for an IGARSS travel grant, you must:
- be an IEEE and GRSS member
- be a first author or presenting author on at least 1 accepted abstract
- have not received funding within the last 2 years
You can increase your chances to receive an IGARSS travel grant if:
- you bring in co-funding from your institution or other external sources
- you are an active GRSS volunteer in a local GRSS chapter or local GRSS student chapter
